Abby, a Baird’s tapir, gave delivery to a pair of extremely uncommon twin calves on Tuesday. The twins, a female and male, are being referred to by workers as “tapir tots.”
The calves are believed to be the primary set of Baird’s tapir twins on document.
Zoo workers mentioned the male twin arrived first, adopted by the feminine. Although he feminine didn’t initially have a heartbeat detected, she shortly recovered.
